Rexon-Eye: a new approach to treating dry eye

What is Rexon-Eye® ?

Rexon-Eye® is a state-of-the-art device developed by Resono Ophthalmic that uses Quantum Molecular Resonance (QMR®) technology to stimulate the metabolism and natural regeneration of cells, including those in the lacrimal and meibomian glands, which are often responsible for dry eye disease. This innovative treatment promotes recovery of glandular function, leading to improved tear production and healthier eyes.

How It Works?

The device produces an alternating electrical signal in a specific frequency range, designed to resonate with the molecular bonds in the biological tissue. This resonance maximizes the transfer of power from the signal to the tissue with minimal heat dissipation, and stimulates the body’s natural regeneration processes. It can increase the volume of tears and improve the quality of the tear strip, thereby relieving dry eye symptoms.

Who can benefit from Rexon-Eye® treatment?

The Rexon-Eye® device is intended for all patients looking for treatment for dry eyes. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of dry eye diseases, blepharitis, corneal ulcers and recurrent warts. It is recommended for pregnant women, patients with active implanted medical devices (such as pacemakers or hearing aids), newborns and children and patients undergoing oncology treatment not to use the device.

What to expect during treatment?

The Rexon-Eye® treatment is non-invasive and painless. The patients will feel a slight and pleasant warmth in the area under the mask. The treatment consists of 20-minute sessions, alternating between the eyes every 30 seconds, once a week for four weeks. Later, one single maintenance treatment is required every one to two months, depending on the response to the treatment. The power of the device can be adjusted individually to ensure the comfort of each patient.

Are there side effects?

No significant side effects have been reported. Some patients may experience temporary blurred vision due to the pressure of the mask, but this usually resolves within a few minutes.
